I lived there from the time of my birth in 1936 to the closing of the yard in 1952.

The memories that I have of the brickyard are seen through the eyes of a young boy. So most of my memories are good memories. I cant speak for the adults that had to struggle to make a living.

The people from Simons would poor (material wise) people, but for the most part a happy lot. We all had a roof over our head and food on the table, most of the food was home grown and bred.

I have to say that my years living in Simons were happy years, of course those were the years of my youth and innocence, that might have something to do with the way I see my life living in the brickyardFrank "kiki" Baltazarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12546292821174295473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8830824491918231642.post-2982383219213113932012-02-25T23:27:26.100-08:002012-02-25T23:27:26.100-08:00I just read the book The Brick People by Alejandro...I just read the book The Brick People by Alejandro Morales. Awsome story that depicts the story of your people and the struggles that they face and how they were the ones that truly built California.gladeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03116228950460882510noreply@blogger.com
