My uncle Magdeleno Baltazar was awarded the Purple Heart when he was wounded in North Africa during WWII. Today he is 91 years old.

This used to be a bar. It's on Date street....When I was a kid in the late '40's my mom would send me to get my dad out of that bar

This is one of about five mom and pop stores that were all within one block, one guy owned a store and the pool hall.
